Chapter 01

Acquaintance, Just Arrived

Although I had planned to study abroad long ago, it wasn"t until after middle school that I truly decided to enter an international high school.

In middle school, I had the opportunity to travel to the United States to participate in the Math League competition, which was a great shock to me at the time.

At that time, I had a dream of attending an international school, but I knew very little about international education. I even thought that this kind of competition was just a test in a different location.

After a week of training, I discovered that the foreign definition of competition was very broad. Cross-disciplinary exchanges outside of the exam were very important, which made a deep impression on me.

Choosing Farragut, the atmosphere was what I valued most. After all, I was going to spend three years here. Having a good atmosphere would bring a good mindset, which, for me, is the best remedy to cope with international learning.

The school"s learning and educational atmosphere was of great help to me. I deeply appreciate the rigorous teaching and good atmosphere of the school for laying a solid foundation for my study. Here, I thank each of my classmates!

chapter 02

Growth, Never-Ending

Thinking back to when I first entered the school, it feels like I was "oblivious" at that time: I had just finished one way of learning, and I didn"t understand the new international education, so I seemed not that "smart".

Soon, I decided to choose physics as my specialty for training and learning. This choice stemmed from my love for natural science.

Throughout high school, I have persistently developed and enhanced my mathematical level and physical reserves. This is a unique strength of mine. In the subsequent competition experiences, this unique passion became the main source of motivation for exam preparation.

During school, I have participated in many competitions and academic exchange activities. What impressed me the most was HOSA. It was the first time I went to an offline large-scale event and met experts from all over the world.

Their understanding of professional fields made me feel ashamed, which was one of the motivations that prompted me to continue learning and improving myself later.

The teacher I am most grateful to is Ms. Jiao and my subject teachers.

Ms. Jiao was the biggest help in my applicationto US universities. During high school, I chose a direction more suitable for studying in Canada. If it wasn"t for her strong support behind me, perhaps I would have been a nameless pawn: she encouraged me to apply for prestigious American universities, let me try various competitions, and participate in TOEFL, AP exams to prove my academic ability.

I also want to thank every Farragut subject teacher. Whenever I have a problem, as long as I ask them on WeChat, they can give me detailed and patient answers.

Chapter 03

Family, The Biggest Support

Since elementary school, I have been cared for by my mother more. She firmly supported me in international learning and is the biggest support in terms of funds and spirit.

Especially during the application stage, when I had to consider choosing a major, even though physics has always been my favorite subject, I was still very worried about whether studying physics could earn money.

At that time, my mother gave me a "reassurance pill". She told me to study with peace of mind and not to consider so much. This gave me the firm confidence to study physics in college.

Chapter 04

The Future, No Longer Distant

During the application process, I received several admission letters. Based on a comprehensive consideration of each university, including major settings, academic reputation, and geographic location. In the end, I chose UCI.

There are two main reasons for studying at UCI: first, the academic resources of UC schools are very rich, especially it"s one of the top universities in the western United States. Second, the California area has development potential in terms of job prospects, and it can provide as many academic and work opportunities for me as possible.

I will major in physics. I believe this is the greatest advantage for me to be admitted to this university. The summer schools and project experiences I have participated in during high school will become a solid foundation for future learning.

I have already started preparing for university, meeting many future classmates and seniors, I believe that through them, I can get to know it faster.

I am full of gratitude for Farragut School. It provides me with a platform for academic and personal development.
